Since his Diploma in Applied Art (GD Art) from ABKM (Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya) College in Pune in 1994, Umesh has been working in the Advertising and IT industries in the areas of graphic design and multimedia animation.
Over the last 8 years, Umesh has been based out of Bangalore in Karnataka, working with various MNCs here.

Over the last decade, Umesh has been exploring the life in the villages of India, especially those of the fisher folk and other itinerant occupations. It is Umesh’s firm belief that the truth about life can only be seen in the villages and through the lives of the villagers.
Thus, it is no surprise that Umesh’s work presents a reflection of the irrepressible zeal and unmatched enthusiasm displayed by the village folk of India. |
